Update of Randomness
I'm going to start tagging my posts about rl just to keep everything orderly.
Anyway, we just finished setting up the Christmas tree(yes, Christmas tree, none of that "Holiday Tree" BS in this journal), which almost didn't happen because Dad wanted to just skip Christmas this year(I made it clear to Mom that I still want my presents, though XD ), but, since we outnumber him, and we want to decorate, the tree's set up a bit later than usual(it's a fake tree. They can be used again, never have to be watered, and no trees had to die). So, tomorrow, I'll unstring and test the lights, then, once the lights are on the tree, it's up to me and Mom to get the rest of the decorating done(except for the outside lights).
As for Christmas itself, I'm just not as excited for it as I used to be, and it's one of my two favorite holidays(Thanksgiving is the other). For as long as I can remember, Dad's always managed to ruin Christmas one way or another. Five years ago, Christmas night was a nightmare because our dog, which was a puppy at the time, had an accident in the house and he wanted to get rid of her. She still wasn't completely housetrained yet(we'd only had her a week, and, being a German Shepherd, she'd already learned which door is her "potty door" and she was going to it fairly consistently). So, I think that's when I really stopped being excited about the holiday. I haven't even touched the PC game I was playing when this went down since that night(and it was one I really wanted, too). I guess I figure that, if I'm not too excited about it, then, when the hammer drops on or around Christmas, the disappointment won't be too bad. I usually just open my presents and take them downstairs(except for whatever DS game(s) I received. Those, I either put in my DS or my DS case), instead of going "Oh, cool!" and showing off, like when I was younger. Then again, that could be because I usually know exactly what I'm getting because Mom never knows what the items on my list are, and, so, I help pick them out, but I can't have them until Christmas(for instance, this year, I'm getting Chrono Trigger DS as one of my DS games. We pre-ordered it and Mom let me have the CD that came with the pre-order, but I can't play it until Christmas. Oh well, I have a huge backlog of games to play and library books to read...
So, yeah, that's pretty much all I have to say for now...
