Random Summer Olympics Thoughts
Okay, like a lot of people, I've been watching the Summer Olympics like an addict since they started(though, tomorrow night, they're going to have to compete with Bleach). So, here are a few random thoughts I generally have while watching.
- How do the male gymnasts keep from rendering themselves sterile on the pommel horse? It seems like a mistake could result in a very painful injury.
- When Michael Phelps swims, aren't they just holding the competition to see who gets the silver and bronze? It certainly seems like it, so far.
- Who cares whether those "fireworks footprints" during the opening ceremony were CGI or not? It was still cool as hell, and the viewers most likely wouldn't have known they were faked if the media wasn't all "yeah, those were fake."
- Why the hell do they air the equestrian events in the middle of the night?! I took horseback riding/dressage(jumping) lessons when I was a kid and I like watching it. Dammit, I wanna see the equestrian events at a decent time!
- Why the hell are the Olympics spread out over several stations? It's a pain trying to figure out which station is showing which events, and, since some of them air at the same time, it's impossible to watch everything.
Really, that's all. I might post more after watching a few more events.
